N.B. The following key dates for UCAT are projected based on the standard UCAT UK cycle pattern (e.g., 2024 cycle: 8 July – 26 September). For the most accurate scheduling, monitor updates on the official UCAT website (ucat.ac.uk) as the 2025 testing window approaches.
Registration and Booking Opens:
Account Creation: 13 May 2025
Booking Opens: 17 June 2025
Registration for the UCAT begins with account creation on 13 May 2025 via the Pearson VUE system. You’ll need to enter your UCAS Personal Identifier number to link your test results to your university application. Booking of test slots opens on 17 June 2025, allowing you to reserve your preferred date and test centre. Early booking is strongly recommended—over 37,000 UK candidates take the UCAT annually, and slots, especially in August and September, fill up quickly.
Deadline for Registration/Booking:
UK Applicants: 19 September 2025 (12:00 BST)
Registration and booking close at noon BST on 19 September 2025, one week before the testing window ends on 26 September 2025. This deadline ensures your test is completed in time for your scores to be available for the UCAS application deadline of 15 October 2025, required for medicine and dentistry courses at UK universities such as Oxford, Manchester, and King’s College London. Late registration isn’t permitted, so plan ahead to secure your slot.
Testing Period:
UK: 7 July 2025 – 26 September 2025
The testing window runs from 7 July to 26 September 2025. All UK applicants must complete the UCAT by 26 September to meet the UCAS deadline of 15 October 2025 for 2026 entry. Testing occurs at over 150 Pearson VUE centres across the UK and worldwide, but availability dwindles in late September—booking early maximises your options. You’re allowed only one attempt per cycle; a second test in the same year is invalid, and results are valid solely for Autumn 2026 entry.
Results Release:
Candidate Access: Scores are available within 24 hours of your test, either as a printout at the test centre or via your Pearson VUE online account. You’ll receive scores for Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning (each scored 300–900, totaling 900–2700), and Situational Judgement (Band 1–4).
University Access: Your scores are automatically sent to your chosen UK universities in early November 2025 (e.g., 4–7 November, based on 2024’s 5 November delivery). This occurs after the UCAS deadline, allowing admissions teams to use them for shortlisting candidates for interviews.
Note: Universities receive your results directly—you don’t need to submit them manually via UCAS.
